Luciana is a professional with more than 10 years of experience in corporate social responsibility and business and human rights. She has extensive experience in implementing the United Nations Guiding Principles on Companies and Human Rights and other international standards and principles of social responsibility in the natural resources sector.
Over the last four years, she has worked on the implementation and operation of nonjudicial complaints mechanisms for impacted communities. Her work employs standards and best practices that ensure transparency and effectiveness and deal with human rights impacts in crisis scenarios. Luciana has also worked for companies in the extractive sector, law firms, and international consulting firms. Her experience includes the development of human rights due diligence and impact assessments, training and reporting strategies, and stakeholder engagement in the development of strategic plans for social risk management. This work has addressed labor, security risks, relationships with indigenous communities, involuntary resettlement, and the sexual exploitation of children, among other issues.
Luciana has a LLM in international legal studies from Newcastle University at the United Kingdom and a degree in international relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
